Online music… long live music piracy! Posted by Marek Vermin on June 27th, 2007

Hey everyone! We just wanted to let everyone know that we just put up the Snocap online music store on our site. That means that all of our released tracks can be bought and downloaded right off our site. That also means you can get the tunes without all of the wasteful CD packaging and you’re going through independent distributors (CD Baby and Snocap) who give the majority of the money you pay back to the artists and indie labels themselves. When you pay $22 for an independent CD at a record store the artists can see as little as $1 from that. However, when you buy an MP3 (or any digital format), you pay way less for a whole album (often $10 or $1 a song) and the artist and indie label can see as much as 75% of that! Not only that, you can then buy $1 burnable CDs and make copies for your friends by converting them to aiffs or wavs in your iTunes player (or whatever you use). Any music with protection is automatically de-authorized by doing this, so this kills the copyright protection in the MP3.

So visit our site, check out our snocap or iTunes links, if you’ve got a credit card download the music, and then pirate it for all your friends who don’t. This is the most independent form of music distribution possible! DIY! Keep it real! ¡Viva la piratas de la música!
